Lifting straps are something I came across in my liftinf career in weightlifting. I went to China and trained with Olympic athletes who use straps for snatch, Deadlifting and rowing. It allows them to stay mobile without recruiting the forearm muscles as much. In my own lifting such as bodybuilding I use it for dumbells, machines, pulleys etc and it has worked wonders without sacrificing form nor intensity in training.
